This Acceptable use policy sets out what you may and may not do when you use Lesson Diary. It forms part of, and is incorporated into, our Terms and conditions, and should be read with them. If there is any conflict between this policy and the Terms and conditions, the Terms and conditions prevail. If you do not follow this policy, we may suspend or end your access.
Who this applies to
This policy applies to everyone who uses Lesson Diary, including the instructor account holder, staff they invite, and pupils or customers who use a booking page or the pupil portal.
Using the service lawfully
Use Lesson Diary only for what it is for: running a driving instruction business and the lessons, pupils and payments that go with it. You must comply with the laws that apply to you, including data protection law, and with the terms you have agreed with your own pupils or customers.
Your account and access
Keep your login details confidential and do not share your account with anyone outside the people authorised to use it. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. Tell us promptly at support@lessondiary.co.uk if you think someone else has access to it.
Prohibited uses
You must not:
- use the service for anything illegal, fraudulent or misleading, or to store or share unlawful content;
- send spam, or use the service to harass, threaten or infringe the rights of anyone;
- upload or introduce viruses, malware, or any code designed to disrupt or damage the service or anyone else's systems;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, another account, or the systems it runs on;
- probe, scan, overload or interfere with the service, or use it to launch a denial-of-service attack;
- scrape, copy or resell the service or its content, or reverse engineer it, except as allowed by law;
- use the service to contact people who have not agreed to hear from you;
- impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your identity or your qualifications.
Data about your pupils
If you are an instructor, you decide what information about your pupils is recorded in Lesson Diary, and you are responsible for having a lawful basis to hold and use it. Record only what you need, keep it accurate, and respond to your pupils when they ask about their data. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle that data as your processor.
Content you upload
You are responsible for any content you add — notes, messages, images or documents. Do not upload content that is unlawful or abusive, or that you do not have the right to use.
Security and reporting
If you find a security problem, or believe the service is being misused, tell us at support@lessondiary.co.uk rather than testing it yourself. We take reports seriously and will investigate.
How we enforce this policy
We may investigate suspected breaches and, where appropriate, warn you, remove content, or suspend or close your account. We may also report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
